You must have seen athletes (runners, soccer players, weightlifters or handball players) wearing different coloured tapes on their bodies. These are kinesiology tapes that help to relax the skin and underlying tissues under the applied tapes.
Kinesio tapes stimulate blood circulation, can reduce pain, relax the muscles, thereby reducing the load on the tissues.
Its positive effects: rapid pain reduction, wide applicability, safe method, does not contain any chemical substances.
Tape is versatile and has many uses. It can be a solution for bruises, muscle strains, muscle pain relief, spine problems (among them it improves bad posture, it can reduce pain, the forces acting on the spine), it can help in the fight against cellulite. It also helps tight muscles and reduces sprains, pain and ligament injuries.
One day before applying the kinesiology tapes, you should no longer use body lotion or cream, and applying them requires expertise, as each tape has a different effect and effectiveness.
Before starting the treatment, I determine how much and what kind of tape needs to be applied to reach the optimal level, then I have to place it in the right direction and exactly on the surface to be treated. The tape usually works for 4-5 days, after which it can be easily removed with warm water.
Kinesio tape is also colour therapy. Warm colours energize, cold colours reduce inflammation and thus help regeneration. The tapes have no known side effects.
I occasionally use the kinesio tape technique as an additional course of chiropractic treatment, but in some cases this treatment alone may be enough.
