What Missing Work Due to Pain Costs You - Zborai Method
February 12, 2024

This article should not have been written, because in a welfare society it is not bad if - say as a bricklayer - you take time off work because of a sore back, because you get rest and adequate sick pay. But we've written it anyway because, as we know, there are special situations....
That's what the GP is for...
Imagine going to the GP with a complaint that you've been lifting yourself and your back hurts - say - and it's stiff. In a good case, he will tell you to go to the district hospital or the hospital of your health centre, here is a referral. Then you get an appointment 24 days later, you wait until then. Worse is to "rest at home" and get painkillers and some kind of muscle relaxers and painkillers that are best sponsored by whichever company. Done, get it done! But what is the danger and what is costing you so much? Let's talk about the danger first.
What does the doctor do?
Let's say you've lifted yourself, taken on a bit more than you should have, or just made a wrong move. You can be sure that the medication the doctor prescribed you will take care of the pain, you'll get better day by day, you might even be able to go to work in a week. Then you'll be in pain at work, and another bad move will lead you to the doctor again. The problem is not solved, the pain is suppressed. If you're lucky you won't get injured again, but you still won't necessarily be pain free.
What does a chiropractor do?
Let's be exactly the same: you've raised yourself. I'm not looking to remove the surface pain (and you don't necessarily have to wait 3 weeks for me) but the cause. My job is to discover the cause and "fix" it, i.e. stop you from having pain. Even if you return to work. Sure, you need to take care of yourself, but you don't need to be extremely careful, because the problem is solved.
How badly do you lose out if you miss work?
It's a difficult question for you to calculate, but I'll show you with two examples. Suppose you work for a building contractor. You know how much your daily (monthly) salary is in pure terms and (let's say with extra benefits). Well, whatever it is, you will receive 60-70% of your declared wage as sick pay. Think about it, if you don't get your full (and important) daily wage for your work then what's the loss if you rest at home for weeks instead of coming in and getting the problem and pain sorted out quickly? There are other cases, of course. An office worker can also lift themselves or take a wrong step on the stairs, it could be an accident at work, sick pay, etc. And here's a story. Once a friend of mine tore his knee ligament, had to have surgery, couldn't move (it's usually 6-8 months off for footballers). He was spared for the first 1-2 weeks, then got a laptop, after a few weeks he sat in the office and worked: not because he wanted to, but because no one else would do it for him. Painfully, but he worked. So that's the other danger in certain jobs: the more time goes by, the more likely it is that you'll have to do some work at home, it's expected. You're sore, you've got a pinched back, you're lubricating it, but you're putting a strain on it. If you come to see me, often just one treatment is enough to keep you working and not on sick leave, while you work.
It's your choice, but if you want to get over a backache, a neck ache, a chronic headache really quickly, then come to me, tell me your complaint, I'll help you: and you can go back to work much sooner.
What my satisfied patients say about me
The 199 five-star Google reviews speak for themselves.
„I had a great experience with Tamás. He can speak English well, so there wasn’t a language barrier. He was quick to identify my issues and offered valuable post-treatment advice, such as getting insoles for my shoes and stretches for my back. The adjustment was highly effective and left me feeling very relaxed and relieved after the treatment. I’ll definitely be back again :)”
Profi hozzá állásának köszönhetően rendbe rakta a csípőm megszüntetve ezzel járó fájdalmakat. Barátságos ,közvetlen természetével oldotta bennem a félelmet. Meleg szívvel ajánlom mindenkinek aki jobban szeretné érezni magát. Köszönöm Tamás a segítséget!”
