How gadgets cause pain

As a chiropractor, I see more and more people with severe neck and back pain:
various knots, hard set muscle, restricted movement. Surprisingly, these problems
most often depend on the use of technological devices such as computers, phones and tablets
together. But how? How does the gadget hurt you?

Statistics are also anti-gadget

Whereas before, it was more middle-aged or older people who came to me for a massage,
for drainage, pain relief, more and more young people are now coming in with chronic neck pain,
with restricted movement, never-ending headaches. As it turns out in hindsight, most of them are almost
clicking on some technical device and using it frequently. But which ones that can cause problems and
what do you do?

Laptops

If you spend long hours working on your laptop, you may experience pain and discomfort in your
in your neck, your shoulders, your back, maybe even your hands. This is because most
you are facing downwards with your laptop so you tend to hunch forward and tuck your neck into your shoulder. It seems
this is the easiest pose, in fact this position puts a lot of strain on the spine and is bad for the
can lead to posture.
There is a solution to alleviate the problems. You need to put the laptop so that the top of the screen should
should be at eye level and the keyboard should be positioned so that your elbow is at 90 degrees
angle while you type. If that doesn't work, stand up for 5 minutes at least every hour, stretch
yourself and get some exercise.

The computers

If you work a lot and can afford to be in one place, in one workstation, it's best to
you use a computer. You can sit in a chair in front of a desk and the monitor can be at eye level.
This doesn't mean that you will never hurt anything, because evolution is not yet ready for it (approx.
40 years so far) to sit like this for 6-8 hours a day, but your pain may be slightly reduced. If not
touchpad instead of a mouse, you'll make a better decision.
Otherwise, you'll have to take care of everything just like you would with a laptop, except that it might be better.

Mobile phones

Are you one of those people who stare at your phone all the time? Whether you pick it up or not, lying down,
standing up, sitting in an office, always and every minute pushing a little so you don't miss the world? This is
can cause the so-called text neck (also called text neck), a curved
neck position, when you push your neck forward and your head is tilted down. This is for neck pain,
can lead to headaches and even shoulder and back pain. To avoid pain, try to
keep your phone at eye level or put it on a table. Also, sometimes don't look at it. All programs,
running on it will send you all kinds of notifications to check it immediately. Why? What happens when
only 30 minutes later do you find out who liked your picture?

A tablet

Perhaps the biggest problem is the tablet, which is already causing a million problems for you as a young child
countless dilemmas. If you don't let him hunch over you all day, he'll lie in an S shape,
pushing, playing, you feel like a lousy parent and the child is falling behind in
about his friends' slang and games.
Unfortunately, the only solution for them is to reduce the tablet time or to expect them to use the tablet
should also be higher, like you are with the monitor, and at least sit with a straight back.
So it doesn't matter what device you use, it's important to take breaks and move throughout the day.
Sitting for long periods can put a lot of strain on the spine and lead to poor posture and pain.
can lead to. Exercises and stretches to relieve pain and discomfort are recommended
try it out. These can include shoulder rolls and neck stretches to help loosen tight muscles and
improve posture.

Most gadgets are inescapable. That's why, if you often have headaches, stiff neck, constricted
your movement, come and see me. I can help you so it doesn't hurt.
